God Wants to Heal You!

One of the most common questions we struggle with today as Christians is whether God wants to heal us when we are dealing with sickness or disease. We struggle in our faith to believe because we can all recount situations where a family member or friend has struggled with a lifelong illness, or died prematurely due to a terminal illness. Despite what we read in scripture, our experience often speaks louder. Unfortunately, most believers have not witnessed the supernatural working of God through the gifts of healing and miracles.

However, the truth is...

As believers in God, we know that He is a good God who desires the very best for us. Throughout the Old and New Testaments, we see countless examples of God's desire for His people to walk in health and healing.

In the Old Testament, we see God revealing Himself as Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). He declares to the Israelites that if they obey His commands and follow His ways, He will not bring upon them any of the diseases that afflicted the Egyptians. He promises them healing and wholeness if they trust in Him and seek His ways.

However, we know that we cannot fulfill all the law on our own. Thankfully, through the work of Christ, we become righteous before God and fulfill the Old Testament requirement of obeying all the law. This positions us before God to receive a life free from sickness and disease.

In the New Testament, we see Jesus walking on this earth, healing the sick and demonstrating God's love and power. He declares that He came to give us life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10). He heals the leper (Matthew 8:3), the blind (Mark 8:22-25), the paralytic (Mark 2:5-11), and many others, demonstrating that God's desire for His people is wholeness and healing.

Additionally, in both the Old and New Testaments, we see God's heart for His people to be healthy in every aspect of their lives. In Deuteronomy 30:19, He declares that He has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing, and urges us to choose life. In 3 John 1:2, we are reminded that it is God's will for us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.

Therefore, because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can confidently say that it is God's will for His people to walk in health and healing. As we trust in Him and follow His ways, we can expect to see His healing power manifest in our lives. Let us continue to seek Him and His ways, knowing that He is a good God who desires the very best for us.

If you are struggling with sickness, disease, addiction or even mental illness, there is healing available in Christ Jesus. He not only paid for your salvation, He bore your sickness and disease. Receive Him for salvation, and receive Him as Healer. Jesus says in John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me."
